Dorado Beach, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve
PUERTO RICO | Hotel
One of the most famous resort properties in the Caribbean, originally a RockResort, DBR was acquired by CPG from the Pritzker family in an off-market transaction in December 2007.
The 1,400-acre site with 2.5 miles of pristine beaches includes (i) two hotel sites, the first which opened as a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, the first in the Americas, (ii) multiple residential offerings, (iii) four championship golf courses, and (iv) several club amenities including a watermill-themed aquatic park. A second hotel site (the former Cerromar hotel) is currently in the predevelopment stages as a JW Marriott Resort.
Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, opened in December 2012 on schedule and on budget, has been profitable from day one and achieves the highest Average Daily Rate in the Ritz-Carlton system worldwide, having received exceptional press coverage and guest reviews. CPG, in partnership with D.E.Shaw and the PRISA Group, continues to actively develop and asset manage the property, having achieved unprecedented sales prices for the resort's various resort residential offerings.
